FORM AND PRESENTATION:

Film-coated tablet.

Blister of 10 tablets. Box of 5 blisters, box of 10 blisters.

COMPOSITION:

Each coated tablet contains;

Magnesium lactate dehydrate…………………………    470 mg

Pyridoxine hydrochloride or  vitaminB6…………………..5mg m

Excipients   q.s: plasdon   S630, heavy kaolin, Arabic gum, saccharose, talc, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate, opadry II 85F 18422 white, opadry OY_S29019 clear, purified water.

Equivalent to 48 mg of cation Mg or 3.94 mEq or 1.97 mmol.

INDICATION:

• Treatment of established magnesium deficiency, whether isolated or associated with other deficiencies.

DOSAGE AND ADMINNISTRATION:

FOR  ADULTS AND CHILDREN OVER 6 YEARS OF AGE ONLY.

Adult: 6 to 8 tablets per day.

Children: 10 to 30 mg/kg/day (i.e. 0.4 to 1.2 mmol/kg/day), i.e. in children over 6 years of age (approximately 20 kg): 4 to 6 tablets per day.

Divided into 2 or 3 doses during meals.

The tablets should be swallowed whole, with a large glass of water.

Treatment is to be discontinued as soon as blood magnesium levels return to normal.

CONTRA-INDICATION:

• Hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients.
• In patients with severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance lower than 30 ml/min).

WARNING:

• In patients with concomitant calcium deficiency, it is recommended in most cases to first correct magnesium  deficiency before administering calcium.
• As this medicinal product contains sucrose, it is contraindicated in patients with fructose intolerance, glucose and galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrose-isomaltase deficiency.
• In the event of moderate renal insufficiency, precautions should be taken in order to prevent any risk.

THIS MEDICINAL PRODUCT IS RESEVED FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN OVER 6 YEARS OG AGE.

INTERACTIONS:

It is recommended to avoid a co-administration of magnesium with phosphate or calcium since they inhibit the absorption of magnesium in the small intestine.

When tetracycline is co-prescribed, administer two products with an interval of 3 hours.

 Do not associate with Levodopa, since Levodopa is inhibited by vitaminB6.

PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING:

• The use of magnesium may be considered at any stage during pregnancy, if needed.
• As magnesium is excreted in breast milk, it should be avoided during breast-feeding.

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS:

Diarrhea, abdominal pains, skin reactions, allergic reactions, allergic reactions.

Any abnormal effect arising during the treatment must be reported to the doctor.

PHARMACODYNAMICS:

Physiologically, magnesium is a plentiful intracellular cation. It decreases neural excitation and neuromuscular transmission. Magnesium also participates in several different enzymatic reactions.

Pyridoxine is a coenzymatic factor participating in many metabolic processec.

PHARMACOKINETICS:

• The digestive absorption of magnesium salts occurs via a passive mechanism, among others, in which salt solubility has a determinant role.
• The digestive absorption of magnesium salt does not exceed 50%.
• Excretion is primarly in the urine.

STORAGE CONDITIONS:

Store in a dry place, at temperature below 30⁰C.
