FORM AND PRESENTATION:

• Ampoule 5ml, box of 1 ampoule support x 4 ampoules, box of 3 ampoule supports x 8 ampoules and box of 1 ampoule support x 10 ampoules.
• Ampoule 10ml, box of 1 ampoule support x 4 ampoules, box of 3 ampoule supports x 8 ampoules and box of 1 ampoule support x 10 ampoules.

COMPOSITION:

Each oral ampoule of 5 ml contains:

Calcium glucoheptonate………………….0.550g.

Ascorbic acid (vitaminc )…………………..0.050g.

Nicotinamide (vitamin PP)………………..0.025g.

Excipients q.s: Hypophosphorous acid, sucrose, lemon tincture, sodium hydroxyd, purified water.

Equivalent to 45 mg (or 1.12 mmol) ion calcium ++.

Excipients q.s: Hypophosphorous acid, sucrose, lemon tincture, sodium hydroxyd, purified water.

Equivalent to 90 mg (or 2.24 mmol) ion calcium ++.

INDICATIONS:

Calcium deficiency, especially during increased calcium demand: growing period, pregnancy, lactation and elderly.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Ampoule of 5 ml:

Children: 1-2 ampoules daily, taken in the morning and at mid-day.

Ampoule of 10ml:

Children: 1 ampoules daily, taken in the morning

Adult: Children: 1-2 ampoules daily, taken in the morning and at mid-day.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:

• Hypersensitivity to the drug.
• Hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria;
• Decalcifying tumors; osteoporosis due to prolonged immobilization;
• Heart and renal failure. The vitamin C content of calcium corbiere (50 mg/ampoule of 5 ml and 100 mg/ampoule of 10 ml) is safe when the recommended daily dose has been respected. Calcium Corbiere contents nicotinamide, its use should be avoid in patients with  severe disease, evolutive gastric  ulcer, arterial hemorrhage and severe  hypotension.

PRECAUTIONS:

• For patients with mild hypercalciuria (exceeding 300 mg or 7.5 mmol/24 hrs) with mild or moderate impairment of renal function or with a history of urinary calculi, monitoring of calcium excretion in the urine is required. If necessary, the calcium dose should be reduced or therapy should be discontinued for patients prone to formation of calcium in the urinary tract. The vitamin C content of Calcium Corbiere (50mg/ampoule of 5 ml and 100 mg/ampoule of 10 ml) is safe when the recommended daily dose has been respected. To be cautioned for patients with history of gastric uler, biliary disease, history of jaundice or liver disease, gout, arthritis caused by gout.
• The sugar content of calcium corbiere (2.5g sugar/ampoule of 5 ml and 5g sugar/ampoule of 10 ml) should be taken into account by diabetic patients.

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS:

May occur gastrointestinal disturbance (constipation, bloating, nausea, vomiting) flush on face and neck, pruritus, burning or sharp pain on skin.

Any abnormal effect arising during the treatment must be reported to the doctor.

USE IN PREGNANCY:

Safe use of calcium in pregnant women when the usual required daily dose has been respected. However, pregnant women are advised to take calcium from sufficient diet. Use of too much vitamin and calcium with other minerals may harm the mother or the foetus. The supplemention of vitamin C and nicotinamide in the diet of pregnant women is safe for the mother and the foetus.

USE IN LACTATION:

Safe use of calcium in lactating women when the  usual required daily dose has been respected.

INTERACTION:

Tetracyclines and calcium corbiere should be taken in an interval of at least 3 hours to avoid the intervention of calcium to tetracycline absorption.
